Call for Speakers: Onondaga County Annual Planning Symposium

Are you passionate about Central New York? Are you an industry leader who has experience solving community and economic development issues in Central New York? Do you have insights and ideas to share on planning and development topics that affect how and where we live, work, and play? We invite you to submit your proposal to become a speaker at the 2025 Onondaga County Planning Federation Training Symposium scheduled for March 26, 2025 at the Hotel Syracuse.

The Federation is seeking engaging and thought-provoking presentations that delve into urban and land use planning topics of interest to local Planning and Zoning Board members. We are particularly interested in reinforcing the themes of our County comprehensive plan, PLAN ONONDAGA - Strong Centers, Housing and Neighborhoods, Community Mobility, Greenways and Blueways, and Agriculture. If you have innovative solutions or insightful case studies related to these areas, or of particular benefit to planning and zoning board members, your proposal is encouraged.

Presenting at the Onondaga County Planning Federation Training Symposium offers you a unique opportunity to communicate your ideas to a diverse audience of 225-300 attendees, consisting of municipal leaders, planning and zoning board members, community organizations, attorneys, codes inspectors, and planners. The Federation is seeking to fill concurrent morning and afternoon classes, 1 1.5 hours each, as well as a 1-hour lunchtime keynote address. Speakers will receive free daylong conference registration including meals and parking, be featured in registration materials, and provided a no-cost tabling opportunity at the Symposium. Please submit your proposal to the Onondaga County Department of Planning no later than Monday, September 30, 2024. Your proposal must include a topic title, a purpose statement, and items to be covered.
